The Live Cheat Sheet

The FSO Live Cheat Sheet offers you in real time a recommendation which position you should draft next and a list of candidates who can fill that position based on Data Sense rankings and customizable user inputs.

Why The Live Cheat Sheet?

There are four main things to consider during a live draft:

1. # of players by position that you have/still need.
2. # of players by position that other drafters have/still need.
3. Supply of players by position (and quality).
4. Who to select given bye-weeks, etc.

Normally, you simply don't have time during a draft to consider all four variables. The Live Cheat Sheet does the first three for you better than anyone else so you can spend your time on deciding who to select instead of how to select. Why is it better?

The Live Cheat Sheet is unique in its design. First off, it takes into account Flex positions and reserves. These can dramatically increase demand for certain positions. Most other cheat sheets do not include these as factors because it complicates behind-the-scene processes. Second, The Live Cheat Sheet automatically predicts future picks in order to determine expected demand. This cannot be emphasized enough because The Cheat Sheet will never put you in the awkward position of reaching for a player/position because you did not factor in other draft participant's next moves. Then, ipso facto, the Live Cheat Sheet looks at which positions you already have to finalize its recommendation based on remaining strength in tiers across positions.

Does it work? Amazing well. For example, in testing the Live Cheat Sheet, an highly unusual instance occurred when in a later round The Live Cheat Sheet suggested drafting a PK before a QB even though the team still did not have a QB. What?!?! At first, FSO thought it was an error in programming. But, in actuality, what had happened is that the Live Cheat Sheet correctly recognized that everyone else had already chosen QB (too early), leaving expected demand at zero. There was no reason to choose a QB next because all of the same QBs would be there later. It correctly selected a PK because it anticipated a run on PKs (given relative strength scores of the position and remaining supply) and was able to get the number one rated PK. This example (selecting a PK before a QB) is not typical by any means (as FSO arbitrarily inserted a whole bunch of early QB selections) but it does demonstrate that The Live Cheat Sheet took into account expected demand, the existing team, and remaining supply of players by position and strength.

Input is customizable. The output is straightforward. As you enter the selections of other draft participants in the Draft Tracker, a table automatically updates to show you FSO's recommendation along with confidence intervals. For example, FSO may recommend that you draft a running back next with a confidence interval of 81% and a quarterback with a confidence interval of 19%. From there you can assess FSO's ranked list of players by position (see Data Sense for a description on FSO's ranking process) or use any other expert player ranking lists. If you like, the Live Cheat Sheet allows you to indicate which players have been selected to make it easier to identify those that still interest you. The Live Cheat Sheet shows each player's bye-week but these are purposely not accounted for in the recommendation so that is left up to you to track.
